October 2006 - Meeting Minutes

The League of Women Voters in Hong Kong met Tuesday, October 11, 2006 in the home of Robin Ernest.

Susan Wallace, President, introduced Kaye Chon, Chair Professor and Director of the School of Hotel & Tourism Management - Hong Kong Polytechnic University, our speaker. A question and answer period followed Professor Chon’s talk.

A brief business meeting followed.

The League will be losing two members: former Secretary, Michelle Todd will be relocating to the U.S.A. on Oct. 24th; Debra Joyce, Special Events Coordinator, will be relocating to the U.S.A. in November.

Anita Chopra, our head of Voter Registration, reminded us that the U.S.Consulate would be holding voter registration on Friday, Oct. 13th from 8:30 – 12:30. You can drop off ballots at that time. The League’s next meeting will be held Tuesday, Nov. 14th at the home of Fiona Ekkebus. Our speaker will be Fiona’s husband, Richard, Chef of the Landmark Mandarin Hotel.

The goal for our next meeting is to have the League’s Directory ready.
