February 2007 - Meeting Minutes
League of Women Voter’s
Monthly Meeting
February 13, 2007
The Monthly Meeting of the League of Women Voter’s was held at Marti Law’s home on Tuesday, February 13, 2007.
Susan Wallace opened the meeting and Anita Chopra introduced our guest speaker, Naomi Li. She is a Chinese American born in San Antonio, Texas in 1924 and moved to Shanghai in 1946. Her story was very interesting.
Susan Wallace “welcomed” two guests; Debbie Pierce and Mary Ellen Sweeney and introduced Marjorie O’Brien as a new LWV member. Susan also announced that a By-law Committee had been formed to “clean up” the by-laws. Beth Hall, chairman of the committee, will be emailing the by-laws out to the membership by the end of February. Beth will explain the changes and answer questions from the membership at the March meeting.
Claire Mueller will be hosting the next meeting on March 13, 2007. Her husband, Richard Mueller, former U.S. Consul General to Hong Kong and now Headmaster of the Hong Kong International School, will be our speaker.
No new business was discussed.
Respectfully submitted,
Janet Mager
