She handed over the meeting to Sandra Collins- de-Lange who introduced the guest speaker, Nury Vittachi. The business portion of the meeting commenced with Debra asking Phyllis Lubbers, Recording Secretary, to read the minutes of the January 2010 meeting. The minutes were approved as read.

Debra introduced guest Casey Graham from the US Consulate’s office, who has promised to research the question presented at an earlier meeting as to whether expats will be counted in the 2010 US census. The information will be forwarded on to the membership once it is received.

Debra called upon the membership to volunteer to be on the nominating committee for officers for the upcoming year. New officer elections are in May. Members may contact Debra or Robin Ernest if interested in either running for office or being on the nominating committee.

Sandra Collins-de-Lange, Voter Services Chair, informed the group that as expats we will need to re-register for mid-term elections. Please contact Sandra for details.

Debra wrapped up the meeting with a summary of the remaining meetings and dates. Beth Hall reminded members that for the March meeting a bus will pick up members at the Central Star Ferry pier for the trip to the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
